A. Childcare can be broken into two groups. Family Childcare and Group Childcare. Little Rascals provides Group Childcare. Both types are required to be licensed. Family Daycares are smaller, typically with 4-6 children and are based in the Licenesee's own home. Group childcare providers typically are based in classroom sized rooms in a facility. Operationally, there is a big difference. Group Childcare, as the name would suggest, evolves around the group concept - caring for and providing early education for groups of children, groups as large as 20-25 children in a program. Unlike school where there is only one teacher in a group, group Childcare standards require specific teacher-child ratios. In a classroom of 20-25 children, it is normal to see 3 or 4 teachers working with the Children in smaller groups.
