What is Heterotroph hypothesis?

0

Simply put it is the idea “organic chemistry may spontaneously form from inorganic chemistry”. To date, there is no scientific observation of this; which is why it remains a hypothesis and not a theory. The best attempt at explaining how this hypothesis might have worked can be found the book “Biological Predestination”. Just be aware that it has been recanted by the author because some of his ideas were later disproven. But it remains the best attempt at stating the hypothesis in a scientific manner – an attempt to write it as a theory. Urey-Miller was the first of many to attempt a partial realization of the hypothesis, but produced only poisonous sludge. None of the later experiments have done any better, though some claim otherwise. Think critically; accept nothing until it is proven. Apply the scientific method to everything you read or hear. Good luck.
