WHAT IS HID, REALLY?
The HID light is a bulb filled with a mixture of noble gases including Xenon. Unlike traditional halogen bulbs, the xenon bulbs have no filament. The light is created by striking an arc between 2 electrodes at either end. An electric ballast is required to create the initial spark needed to ignite the bulb.
