What is Home Port Training (HPT)?

0

Home Port Training is training provided and funded by Learning Centers in CONUS to support valid NTMPS requirements for units located outside of the immediate area of the Learning Center. HPT is normally based on a training requirement that affects several units in FDNF, in which the return on investment is greatest. Learning Centers are able to provide training to a great number of students from several units, thereby saving large amounts of TADTAR money for both the Center and the Fleet. HPT courses provided to WESTPAC are normally those for which there are no local instructors qualified to teach the courses.
