What is HUD (Housing and Urban Development) and how does it affect me?
Part of HUD’s mission is to increase access to housing that is free from discrimination. As part of that goal, they define and enforce Fair Housing Regulations at the federal and state levels. Discrimination laws can be complex and ever changing. Failure to follow these laws can result in governmental prosecution as well as associated civil suits from tenants. MMRE’s managers are licensed and participate in frequent educational opportunities to ensure we are abreast of changes to housing and discrimination laws.
