Not all employment discrimination is illegal. For example, employers have every right to discriminate on the basis of experience or temperament. Illegal employment discrimination occurs when an employee's gender, race, age, religion or disability factors into an employer's decision about: • Hiring • Firing • Raises • Promotions • Job duties • Job perks In addition hostile, derogatory, threatening or demeaning behavior can also constitute a form of employment discrimination — harassment. Sexual harassment is unfortunately a very common form of employment discrimination.  more
