What is included with tuition?
Accommodations at the class site Overnight accommodations at the Lowell Center on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus (610 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53703) are included with the tuition fee for the nights of March 15 through March 26 (arriving March 15, departing March 27, 2009). Check in begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2009. Check out is 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009. Luggage can be stored at the front desk for those individuals whose transportation leaves later. Accommodation requests for early arrival or late departure should be made by contacting the Lowell Center directly at +1.608.256.2621 or lowell@ecc.uwex.edu. You are responsible for paying for any additional room nights. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you plan to take the IBD exam and need an extra room night, you must contact the Lowell Center to make arrangements. The profession of a seamstress involves working in light industry factories, ateliers and salons, repair shops, fabric departments in shops and other establishments where various products are sewn (clothing, underwear, hats, curtains, bags, covers, etc.). Depending on the specifics of production, seamstresses can work with fabrics and knitwear, leather, fur, felt and other materials. Unlike tailors, seamstresses perform only the sewing operation, that is, the connection between parts of the manufactured clothing. And if a more versatile worker in a repair shop can sew (sew, alter) the entire suit, then the seamstress-motorist in the factory is responsible for only one operation, for example, sewing a shirt sleeve. All meals, accommodations, in country transportation, activities, and tips are included in tuition. The only added expense would be for spending money, meals in airports, and departure taxes from the destination country (if applicable). Please note that a portion of tuition will also be used for service project supplies, coordinators, and donations.
