What is Inflamed Gums?
Inflamed Gums is a condition which is characterized by the inflammation caused by “Cavities, gingivitis, and other serious ailments like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, vitamin deficiencies, and even the risk of having a premature or low-birth-weight baby”. Inflamed Gums is usually caused by poor dental hygiene such as not brushing well or not flossing regularly. Inflamed Gums are red, swollen and bleed on brushing. Plaque is often visible on the surfaces of teeth, next to areas of Inflamed Gums. In time, plaque around the crown of the tooth may spread down below gum level. This usually occurs slowly and the inflammation produced results in the formation of ‘pockets’ (spaces between teeth and gum) and bone destruction.
