If you are used to a really big city, it takes a little getting used to, but most places around Oxford are within cycling distance. London is only an hour away by train and between 1 and 2 hours by bus. The bus services run 24 hours a day. Oxford is a middle-sized town with all the high-street department stores and has some pretty good clubs, pubs and bars. However, if you are not from the UK, the 11p.m. closing time of the pubs takes some getting used to, but then you can go to a club or back to the college MCR.
