What is JCAHO?
“JCAHO” is the acronym for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Founded in 1951, the Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation’s health care through voluntary accreditation. The national standards set by JCAHO are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in an organization’s performance and the outcomes of care. Graham Hospital; Graham Home Health, Hospice, and Home Medical Equipment; and Graham Extended Care facilities were all most recently surveyed and accredited by The Joint Commission in May of 2002.
