The program promotes philanthropy through wills and estate plans. The Newton community was the first in Kansas to offer a LEAVE A LEGACY program. Through our public education program that encourages planned giving, we seek to bring together communities, donors and estate planning professionals. LEAVE A LEGACY® – Kansas City LEAVE A LEGACY® is a national campaign with a special effort here in Kansas City to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to make planned gifts from their estates to their favorite charitable organizations and to help connect people with the specific charitable organizations that will help them fulfill their legacy. The goal of LEAVE A LEGACY® Kansas City is to increase charitable giving to improve the quality of life for all those in the Kansas City area. Give to Your Favorite Charity, not to LEAVE A LEGACY® LEAVE A LEGACY® is not a separate charitable organization and does not solicit contributions from individuals, but instead is underwritten by local foundations and organizations.
