What is March of Dimes Ride?
Ride is the motorcycle event that saves babies. Ride is a March of Dimes fundraiser, which helps support programs of research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies from birth defects, low birthweight and infant death. The funds raised from Ride help the March of Dimes continue it’s 60-year track record of lifesaving breakthroughs that include: • the polio vaccine, which saved an estimated 135 million babies from the threat of death or disability; • the PKU test, which has saved an estimated 15,000 babies from mental retardation; and • surfactant therapy which, since 1990, has cut in half the number of infant deaths due to respiratory distress syndrome.
