Pre menopause is the build up to the date where it stops – and this date is called menopause, although it is commonly used to describe the whole transition period. When a woman is born she has between 1 – 3 million eggs in the ovaries, which products hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. By the time she reaches mid forties these hormone will no longer be able to stimulate new eggs to work which is the cause of menopause.
