What is more detrimental to ones health: binge drinking or smoking marijuana?

I guess the easy answer is drinking is worse. It causes liver issues and most alcoholics have depression issues. However, marijuana is considered a gateway drug. It’s a fact that most marijuana smokers will say is false. I say this: If you use either one in excess it can be harmful. If you have a couple of beers at a party or smoke a joint or two, you’re fine. If you drink a couple of beers everyday or smoke several joints a day, then when it’s time to party you will move on to something “better” harder alcohol or harder drug. This is what they mean by gateway drug. Again, if you smoke a little or drink a little, it’s fine. If you binge anything; drink, eat, smoke, it’s going to have a negative effect.
