MSP is BC’s provincial health insurance plan. Anyone residing in BC for longer than 6 months is required by law to enroll in MSP. International students (even those who intend to continue their healthcare with StudentGuard) must enroll with MSP immediately upon their arrival to Canada. The process of applying takes approximately 3 months. Note: International students, your admission counsellor will ensure that you fill out the MSP application with the first few days of your arrival to Canada.
