What is new about Board Certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology?
The next initial certification exam will be March 2009, not November 2008. This timing change reflects the change in the process for establishing board eligibility. Program directors must now complete the Verification Form (VF) as the applicant ends fellowship. This is a change from the past when the VF could be completed at the time of application for the examination. The ABP is developing a new booklet to help Program Directors understand the Board requirements.
