“Organic Beef” is beef that has not been given any growth hormones, and has only been fed organic grains. Frankly I’m not big on the growth hormones, but I think that the organic grains is unneccessary. The growth hormoes are there simply to make the cows bigger, and there really hasn’t been much research on what impact it has (if any) on those who eat the beef. However, pesticides used to protect various grains (corn, etc.) have been studied for years and are safe (for the grains – overdoing the pesticides can end up putting them into the water supply). Genetically modified grains (modified to be more resistant to diseases) have been getting a fair amount of research. While I don’t think that the final verdict is in, research seems to indicate that genetically modified grains have no impact on those that eat them. The long and the short of it is, I would not seek out and spend extra money for “organic beef” for my dog, particularly if you buy meat for yourself at the supermarket (whic
