What is Paraplegia or a Paraplegic Accident?
Paraplegia is a physical condition which generally results from some traumatic injury to the spinal cord, such as a spinal cord injury (SCI), brain and head injury, or someother congenital condition. Similar to quadriplegia, paraplegia is paralysis of the lower half of the human body. Therefore, the lower half and lower extremities of the paraplegic person is paralyzed and they are unable to move.
