What is PCB Matrix relationship with IPC?
IPC and PCB Matrix worked together since the development of the three tiered land pattern convention established by the committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission. The concepts were adopted by the IPC and its land pattern committee and the mathematical model documented in the standard provides a common ground for the physical land pattern dimensions. The mathematical equations and resulting patterns were jointly developed by the IPC committee and PCB Matrix. The model uses the dimensions of the components produced by the industry which at times vary from what is published for component dimensional properties. This data has been used to develop the appropriate land pattern for different parts with the three options related to equipment density.
