What is Phase II Orthodontic treatment?
Again I prefer to provide all needed treatment over a short a period of time as possible. We treat each person as an individual and will only provide treatment that is indicated for that individual. If early treatment is needed phase II treatment is the braces part of treatment and can take 18 to 24 months followed by wearing retainers until all growth is completed (as stated above).
Sixteen new permanent teeth will have erupted between the age of 10 to 12 years old. At approximately age 12 Dr. Pritchard will recommend complete diagnostic records to determine the extent, method, and costs of Phase II treatment. The extent of Phase II treatment can range from new retainers up to full braces for one to two years to finish correction of the bite problem.
