What is Private Probation?
The 8th Judicial District Probation Department contracts with a private company for the supervision of some lower risk adult offenders. In these cases, supervision fees required of every probationer are paid directly to the private company rather than the Court to directly cover the cost of supervision. The decision to refer a probationer to the private provider for supervision is made by the Probation Department after reviewing information about the defendant and the offense. The present provider is Rocky Mountain Offender Management Systems, LLC.
