Psychological consultation is an opportunity for students to explore educational and personal concerns. Consultants help to engage individuals in meaningful conversations or activities in order to promote an individual's academic and personal growth. The aim is to develop more effective problem-solving strategies and thereby decrease feelings of distress. Who are the consultants? The consultants are trained advanced graduate students with backgrounds in psychology that include a Master's degree plus relevant clinical experience. They are competent and empathic people who possess the skills to help students achieve a more satisfying educational experience at BGSU Firelands. These individuals are supervised by a licensed clinical psychologist. Am I eligible? Services are made available to any enrolled BGSU Firelands undergraduate or graduate student who is at least 18 years old and currently enrolled at Firelands.
