his music? nothing really. It’s more about the man than his music. I will say that he had some really inspiring ideas on composition . . . but I’m not discounting the fact that the bulk of his works are great. His operas are the only ones I can actually enjoy and I feel (personal statement) that he laid the groundwork for the modern musical as we know today. But when the word “revolutionary” is used – can’t say that his is. Revolutionary means to me that it changed the genre or works . . . The large part of his creations were pretty much staples that had been developed before his time. In some aspects, he took the genre to the next level (if you will) but I think it’s more about him. There’s no doubt that the history books have labled him as a child prodigy as both a performer and composer. Simply due to the fact his age of his first composition and he was playing before royalty at a really early age (actual number escapes me) He most likely had either perfect pitch or excellent relati
