What is Rubber Sheeting?
Rubber sheeting refers to a process by which one data set is beneficially distorted to meet specific requirements. In Multric, the data which is to be distorted, i.e. to be edited, is referred to as the edit data set. The beneficial distortion desired is defined by associating specific locations in the edit data set with points in a second data set. The second data set is referred to as the reference data set. That is, the data set to which the edit data set is to be referenced.
