What is SAI Platform?
The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform is a pre-competitive food industry initiative concentrating on mainstream agriculture. It aims at communicating about and contributing to the development of sustainable agriculture, by involving all stakeholders of the food chain. Indeed, the food industry relies on the long-term supply of agricultural products for its business. At the same time, it realizes how damage to natural resources and problems faced by rural communities affect agricultural productivity. These also affect consumer confidence in the entire food chain. Thus, encouraging the development of sustainable agriculture is in the interests of the food chain and of the whole of society in general.
