Road racing is conducted on paved roadways / tracks that utilize both left and right turns that form a track. Some professional examples of road racing leagues are the Indy Racing League, CART and Formula One. One of the clubs I race with is called the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). The SCCA is a 55,000 member non-profit organization featuring the most active membership participation organization in motorsports today. There are several regions that make-up the SCCA. The New England Region (NER) has been the fastest growing region in the SCCA for the past six years and consists of over 3,100 members. The foundation of the SCCA remains its Club Racing program. The club racing program is very successful in grooming top-notch, world-class drivers and race officials. The track that I race at most often is Lime Rock Park located in Lakeville CT.
