What is Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank?
Founded in 1984, Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank is the regions only food bank and exists to rescue nationally and regionally donated food for distribution to non-profit agencies (food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters, senior nutrition sites, programs for youth, homes for the mentally and physically disabled) and to people in need. Our food bank rescues over 2.6 million pounds per year enough food for 2.1 million meals providing it to 140 non-profit agencies and approximately 40,000 people in need throughout NE Minnesota (St. Louis, Carlton, Lake and Cook counties) and NW Wisconsin (Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland and Iron counties).
