What is so virginous about virgin wool?

0

Wool is referred to as virgin wool when it’s going to be spun and afterward, as to what kind of wool it is. It simply means that it has never been spun into yarn before, it’s a first for this fiber to be spun, thus virgin, as opposed to wool that is reused or recycled back into a new yarn. Wool that has been spun before or yarn that is made from recycled fibers or fabrics is called shoddy.
