What is Social and Emotional Health?
The social and emotional health of a child is shaped and influenced by relationships with their primary caregivers in a nurturing environment and is reflected in a childs feeling safe to explore and express emotions in their natural settings. The social and emotional health of a child is also expressed when he or she is able to make and sustain friendships, resolve peer conflicts, and begins to display stable and consistent patterns of behavior that will eventually lead to an independent, productive and happy adulthood.
