What is Summer Champs?

At Kingwood High School on June 7th and 8th, Blue Tide will host an invitational for summer league swimmers. Swimmers 12 and under will compete on Sunday the 7th starting at 3:00 PM, 13 and over swimmers will compete on Monday the 8th starting at 6 PM. The Kingfish will be competing in this meet. To qualify, a swimmer must have achieved the time standard at a dual meet, not at time trials. Also, if a swimmer qualifies for three events, they can enter all of the events offered for his or her age group. We will put together relays for those age groups where we have enough swimmers competing. Kingfish competing in Summer Champs will have to pay a $4 per event meet entry fee to compete. The Kingfish team will pay for relays. Summer Champs is a great opportunity to swim against some different area teams in an indoor pool. Set up for swimmers and spectators will be in the cafeteria. While Summer Champs is a long meet, the coaches strongly encourage swimmers who have qualified to participate.
