Pennsylvania law (Act 537) requires that all municipalities in the state prepare an official plan to address short and long term sewage needs in the municipality. The resulting Plan, called a Sewage Facilities Plan (or more commonly an Act 537 Plan) must be adopted by each municipality through ordinance, and the plan must be approved by the state agency that oversees all sewage planning (the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, or PADEP). Manor Township recently adopted its Act 537 Plan, and the Plan was approved by PADEP on June 13, 2007.
