UV (Ultraviolet) Resistance is rated using a Fadeometer which is a device that tests the permanence of a fabric’s color (fading) when exposed to sunlight. Typically, Spun Polyester and Printed Acrylic Fabrics have a Rating of up to about 500 Hours, while Solution Dyed Acrylics such as Sunbrella® generally have a minimum Rating of 1500 Hours. The newest Sunbrella® Acrylic Fabrics include a 5-year limited warranty against loss of color or strength due to exposure to sunlight or mildew.
