What is the annual average rainfall at the atacama desert in both centimeters and inches?
There really isn’t any measurable rainfall in the Atacama. In some places it hasn’t rained in at least 500 years. It gets some very sparse moisture from fog off of the Pacific Ocean which is next to it but that is not regular nor can it be counted on. The desert fronts the Andes Mountains and because they are so high the moisture on the East side of them gets hung up on the peaks and either rains or snows on the east slopes but when it reaches the peaks it gets heal in the clouds and carries out to sea.
