What Is the Average Height and Weight for a 12 year old?
The average weight for a 12 yr old is about 83 pounds. But the normal range goes up to 154 pounds and down to 55 pounds. My 12 yr old son is 77 pounds. Looking at where you fall on my chart, you are well within the normal distribution. As for height, the average is around 4 ft 11 inches. You remain within normal bounds for your height but this time you are very close to the top, so you are among the tallest of girls your age. Just as significant as your actual weight and height, is the relationship between the two. You’re supposed to roughly follow the same line on the graph for both height and weight. Your weight is on a different line, a little closer to the average than your height, but the two lines are quite close so that’s O.K. It would be a problem if you were following the bottom line for height and the top for weight (obesity) or the top for height and the bottom for weight (starvation) but your lines look sensibly matched.
