Again this answer depends on which part of Ecuador you are referring to. In the souther part of the country along the coast, some parts get very little rain at all. Puerto Lopez gets almost no rain at all. The town has to truck in water from the river 20 miles south of town. When it does rain, it is not a pretty site. The streets are a sea of mud. In the Amazon basin there is a dry season and a wet season. The rainfall during the wet season is heavy and frequent. I don’t recall the exact rainfall but 20 inches a month is probably close during the wet season. During the dry season there is still some rain but not nearly so much, maybe 6 inches a month. The rains are also seasonal in the Andes but they are not so great.
