The average rainfall in the rainforests is 250 cm (about 100 inches). A rainforest is defined by relatively large amounts of rainfall that are received all year 'round. In fact, a forested region must receive a normal annual rainfall of between 68-78 inches to be considered a rainforest Source: http://www.economicexpert.com/a/Rain:forest.htm, http://www.cotf.edu/.../rforest. more
