Because SuperNet is a high-bandwidth, private network, users do not have to contend with competing traffic and congestion, which can occur on the Internet. These issues affect the quality of the videoconference connection in terms of crispness and clarity of image and can also cause network “hiccups” and delays. For example, some participants may be dropped from a session due to a lost connection, or they may appear to “freeze” on the screen. This causes unnecessary disruptions that shift attention away from the learning and onto the technical issues, which negatively impacts the overall quality of the leaning experience. Ideally, all sites will one day be connected to the SuperNet, which would vastly improve the quality and integrity of the connections.
