In my opinion, ibuprofen is the best, and I use the generic brand, as I have seen no difference among the brand names. All anti inflammatory medicines should be taken with a little food and plenty of water, so they can work best, and to avoid stomach problems. Never exceed the label dosage, and do not combine anti inflammatory medicines with others, as taking and advil and aleve at the same time will create more problems than they treat. Acetaminophen/Paracetamol/APAP/Tylenol are all the same, but are not anti inflammatory drugs, so acetaminophen may be taken with ibuprofen on rare occasion, but with plenty of water. Excedrin combines these two meds, along with a little caffeine. Aleve/Naproxen is considered the best by many, but some patients have bad responses to that medicine. Some people who wish to avoid ibuprofen and naproxen may take Orudis. Try to avoid long term usage of any anti inflammatory drugs, as they can damage the stomach, digestive tract and kidneys.
