What is the best bedding for a Ball Python?

Don’t you just love Ball Pythons? 🙂 I use aspen bedding for my Ball Python. It’s not expensive, and it looks a lot better than newspaper or paper towels. It also holds in moisture quite well. You should never use pine or cedar bedding either, by the way. It can make your snake very sick. Good luck, hope this helps.

It depends on you. If you want a good looking set up you should use a bark type substrate made for reptiles. I only have 1 python right now and I used Reptibark in his tank. I have owned several in the past and always had really good luck with a product called Forest Floor. That stuff is really good for keeping humidity up in the tank. Reptibark is kinda dry, so I find myself having to mist the tank more often. Remember that a python is a tropical animal. The closer you keep the habitat to its natural environment, the happier the snake will be. Some people use newspaper because it is very easy to clean and manage. I think it looks bad, so I prefer the mentioned substrates above. Steer clear of carpet products, they hold moisture and can mold, plus it stains easily and will look bad quickly.
