What is the best digital compact camera for photos to show on a wide screen television?
I take it that you’re concerned about picture resolution. Any new digital camera with even a low 3 megapixel upwards will be able to get the job done. Just avoid any really cheap ones with funny brand names. The only difference is with higher megapixel, you can zoom in while still retaining good clarity (say, if you took a group photo, and you wanted to zoom in on a particular person). Also, how you plan to show the pictures will make a difference too. If you plan to simply plug in the composite video cable (the one with the yellow jack) from your camera, you probably won’t have very good resolution especially on a HDTV set even though it is quick and convenient. If your TV has a built-in memory card reader (some good HDTVs have them now) or if you connect it through your computer via a VGA or DVI cable (most HDTVs have this feature), you will get better picture quality on the screen.
