I'm not sure what part of Illinois you're looking for one in but my favorite is Ed Debevic's in Chicago. Besides having great food, there is something special about this diner. The employees there are suppose to be rude to you on purpose. They do things like make rude comment to you while they're serving your food and they even dance on top of the bar once in a while. It's definitely a Chicago classic.
