What is the best possible score that you can get on an ASVAB test?
The highest AFQT (Armed Forces Qualification Test) score you can get on the ASVAB is a 99. It is a percentage score. What really matters are your individual line scores, which are aptitude area scores. All services use different categories of aptitude scores, and they are the ones that qualify you to be trained in certain career fields or MOS’s. For instance, you can have an AFQT of 55, and your line scores may be in the 100’s to 110’s in your aptitude areas. The AFQT score is used to qualify you for entrance into the military, qualify you for MOS’s by category limits,(Overall mental aptitude), and qualify you for certain incentives or bonuses. An AFQT of 50 is considered an “A”, as it places you in the upper mental category. Math and English/Reading skills drive the overall AFQT. If you bomb those subjects on the ASVAB, your AFQT will be terrible, even if you have some good line scores in other areas such as mechanics etc.
