If you?re a guitarist that has ever picked up a bass, you probably would have noticed the much longer scale that the neck would have had. While not feeling impossible to play, the extra length of a bass may have felt somewhat daunting and difficult to get to grips with at first.

I think you just need to try a few options to figure out which one is easier to manage. Also, you will need a good bass fuzz pedals, you can read this review to choose the best one

A short-scale bass will sound the same as a standard size bass, since you’re tuning it exactly the same as a standard size bass. The only difference would be that the strings on a short-scale bass will be looser and floppier (lower tension) than on a standard scale-length bass, which makes it easier for your fretting hand to press them down. And the shorter scale means the frets are a little closer together, which also makes it a little easier to play if you’re a beginner or if you have smaller hands. OTOH, if you pick too hard, the strings will rattle and buzz against the frets. Those are really the only differences between short-scale and standard-scale basses, AFAIK.
