What is the best tiling surface?
Although tile adhesive manufacuters list several suitable adhesion surfaces, we think the most durable tile jobs are on a cement base applied with cement bonding mortar (Thinset). Cement bonding surfaces include poured concrete (usually floors), cement and wire mesh mortar beds (walls & floors), cement backerboard (usually 1/2 ” on walls), and cement board underlayments (usually 1/4″ applied to wood subfloors). Again, we can take responsibilty for advise on the tiling surface.
