What is the best time to trim dogwood trees?
I have two of these and was thinking of removing one, but I was told that two dogwoods are needed in order to get flowers. A: You do not need a pair of dogwoods in order to get flowers. Prune flowering dogwoods in the spring right after the blooms fade to allow plenty of growing season time for new shoots to grow after pruning that will form flower buds for the next spring. Remove no more than one-third of a tree’s potential leaf-bearing potential per year.
