What is the best video codec for recording AVI files?
We’ve experienced the best quality/size tradeoff with the x264 codec. Xvid also offers a good performance. The video codecs are part of the operating system and hence VISSIM has no influence in what codecs are available or not. Make sure to have the desired codec(s) installed on your computer before you start VISSIM (you may use the links above to download the corresponding codec). For succesful playback you need to ensure that the codec used for recording is also installed on the computer system where it is played back. As an alternative for playback you may use a media player with built-in codecs such as VLC media player.

Hello. I think you can choose any available popular codec for your videos, for beginners it is not so important. If you are an advanced user, I can recommend to work with H.264 codec, it allows to record the target with high speed, high compression ratio, and excellent quality. Also such variants like for example Xvid and MPEG-1 can be good, they are widely used. Talking about editing videos there can be special applications which you can use online or install a program on your PC/laptop.
Hi there. Good answers. I often work with videos because I’m a Youtube blogger. I’m not a big expert in this direction, but I know the most popular formats like MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WMV. They all have their own pros and cons, you can read more about them in internet, or watch this video https://youtu.be/hvgxn8v–8Q on Youtube. Talking about how to edit videos, I prefer to save my time and use online tools like on https://www.fastreel.com/video-cutter.html website, all functionality is quite simple and clear.
