Right now, just invite her to hang out or something, I think that twelve is a bit too young to start dating, wait ’till you’re at least thirteen, or maybe even older than that. The first step however is getting to know the girl you might ask out in the future better, so why don’t you take the first step, the rest can wait for a while, and maybe you’ll decide that the girl you had once wanted to ask out is really not your type. That’s the kind of stuff you can find out usually only by getting to know the person better, and if you do it before you ask them out, it’s not too late. If you decide you don’t really like her all that much after getting to know her better, than you can avoid going out with her much more easily than if you ask her out and decide on the date that you don’t really like her a whole lot.
