turning things off properly instead of standby can save alot more electricity than u think, telly alone can save you £36 a year if you switch it off properly, plus the washing machine uses so much energy just having the standby light on, and the shower light too, Also your tumble dryer uses loads! as it is now winter and you will probably have central heating on any way , dry your closthes on the radiators, makes you feel less guilty for having it on knowing your no tumble drying finally SUN BEDS if you have on switch it on then run down stairs and watch the electric metre wizzing round! the other thing is dont be fooled by the electric company sending you a letter to say they are putting your monthly payment up as they have estimated you are using more electricity, phone them and give them your accurate metre reading you will probably find that they are wrong and have over estimated!
