What is the best way to brush a 10 month olds teeth?
At this age, I just used a clean, wet baby face cloth, and wiped the teeth, and surrounding tissues with that. Baby may be more eager to open up, since they will like sucking the cloth. I put it over my fore finger, and thumb, and grab the teeth and wipe them well. Tooth paste is not needed at this age, since it does not contain fluoride anyhow.
What I do is I get my toothbrush ready with toothpaste on it and I don’t put any on my 13 months old baby’s, but I let him see me brush my teeth and he copies me by chewing on the brush. Then, when I am done brushing my teeth, I take the brush from him and tell him to open wide and I brush his teeth.
I just put a tooth brush in my child’s crib and I would frequently find them in the morning chewing away on the bristles. I counted that as brushing teeth. Yes they both chewed on the handle a lot but they also chewed the bristles too. Dip it in some juice, or something sweet….yes, it defeats the purpose but after a bit of time, you won’t need to do that anymore because the bristles become a new teething toy.
