The best way is to do it on your hands and knees. Use two buckets, one with soapy water and the other with clear water. Never put the dirty cloth or sponge back into the soapy water, instead, rinse it out in the clear water then suds up again. Linoleum can take more dampness than other floorings, but still, don’t slosh too much out. You can use a sponge mop and do the job standing up, but still, rinse the mop head before dunking back into the cleaning solution. Use a good general purpose mild detergent like Murphys Oil Soap, or an eco-friendly alternative. Dish soap works really well and doesn’t leave a residue. Whatever you use, don’t use much. Less chemical is better when it comes to cleaning.
